Something creative, something old, something new?? Oh yes! I actually spent a good portion of today thinking of what to do as my "something creative" today.
I stayed home with my middle daughter, R. She's a sick lil puppy. I took her to the doctors, to confirm strep throat. We went on a bunch of errands today. It was a gorgeous day in Portland, which is a rare thing for us, in the winter. What on earth was I going to do, that was creative??? After picking my twins up from school, and then my oldest daughter. We decided that we were going to look around and decide what inspired us. Obviously love must be in the air, because we decided that Valentine's Day should (in fact) occur every day. I think that of any style out there, if my world looked like a variation of Valentine's Day cards, I'd be one happy lady. I bought a red satin comforter the other day to remind myself of this. Now, I'm thinking I want to make some hair accessories for my kids. Valentine's Day bows are in order.
We went to the Dollar Store (in search of hair-fixin-odds-and-ends, and I bought them out of their supply of fake eyelashes. I know I need that many lashes for photo shoots and what not, but sometimes, I think I like to pile that many boxes of lashes in my cart, just to listen to my girls laugh, and say "OH, MOMMERS!" . They think I've lost my mind, and I'm pretty sure I like it. :)
Other than the eyelashes, I didn't find what I was looking for at the Dollar Store, so I picked up the rest of the goodies at Sally Beauty Supply. I picked up some more hair color (for toner) too. That brings me around to swoony hair. I am in beauty school, full time to get my full cosmetology license. I think that I can do a pretty good job foiling other peoples hair, but doing my own is very difficult. Enter oldest daughter, D. D is a very sparkly and wonderfully kooky early teenager. The agreement was that I would section my hair myself and get my hair into the foil packets, while she paint the bleach part on my hair; then I would fold those foils back up myself. D agreed to help me, under one condition... I had to listen to her mock opera voice, as she sang everything that she was thinking. It was pretty funny. So there I had this crazy, tall chick painting my hair singing in a loud opera voice songs like "Under the Sea" and every Disney Princess song out there, while I prayed to God that the bleach was being applied evenly. HAHA! It was worth it. Her swoony heart needed it, and my swoony heart needed good hair! I ended up putting some deep reddish brown highlights and some buttery-Carmel highlights into my dark brown hair. OH EMMM GEEE! My hair feels so good, and I feel so pretty. This was just what I needed for a more swoony-valentine-heart-feeling hair-do! Thanks, D!
As for the accesories? R and I will be making those today.
I have this song on my mind today. Revealing my secret heart. <3
